  • Costa Rica

We went to Costa Rica! It was a fast trip (just over a week), our “pre-honeymoon” before the wedding. We rented a 4×4 and drove to Arenal, Monte Verde, Uvita, Manual Antonio, and did a 2 day trek in Corcovado, which was amazing(ly hot). I only saw one sloth but one is better than none!

He lived in the tree by our hostel.

Our car, which was hit by a local on our last night. Thanks a lot guy.

Costa Rica was wild, hot, beautiful, and challenging. People here were really friendly, and I can’t think of a single time that someone tried to push a souvenir or service on me (and if you know me, you know that I don’t have a lot of patience for that). Food was good pretty much everywhere. You can’t escape the bugs. Driving was an experience, some of the roads were in such bad shape, and it’s probably best not to drive at night. Also, car rental companies were the only dishonest people we came across. Wish we could have made it to the sloth sanctuary…I would definitely go back because there was so much we didn’t get to see!

  • Since we’ve been in America

Martin has made it through 6 months in America! Who would have thought this day would come : ) He’s managed to pass a portion of the exams he has to take in order to make his veterinarian license valid in the States. I’ve been doing my best to stay busy with work, and we spend as much time with family as possible. It’s almost the end of the year! I haven’t traveled as much as I would have liked to this year (though it doesn’t seem that way since I technically went to Hawaii, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, England, Peru, and Bolivia). I have no idea what next year has in store, but I know we’ll be in Czech Republic again in May for our wedding : ) It’s been a good year, much better than the previous, and I have a feeling that 2015 will be the best so far!

  • Euro Roadtrip

And who could forget the near disastrous roadtrip through Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy..

  • Spring in Czech Republic

Wow, long time no post again. I guess I should play catch up. It’s been seven months since my last trip in Czech Republic with Martin and his family, so I guess I should throw some of those photos up.

Martin is at home with his mother celebrating Christmas, wish I could be there too.

  • Oahu and Hawaii

I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding in Hawaii last week! My favorite place in the world pretty much. I spent a week camping by myself, and since I’d never been to the big island I decided to spend my time there.

    Campsite on the north shore.

    Volcanoes National Park.

    My favorite campsite, in Kona.

Traveling alone is actually kind of fun, especially somewhere like Hawaii.

  • Peru, Bolivia, and the Salkantay Trek!

I recently got back from a trip to Peru with my friends Monica and Nicole. We spent two weeks traveling from Cusco to La Paz, including a four day trek in the Andes, the Salkantay trek. It was so amazing! We saw llamas, had amazing food with Pisco Sour on the side, camped, hiked, shopped, spent too much time on buses, and ended the trip at Machu Picchu.

Amazing trip! I would love to go back because there is sooo much we didn’t get to see.

  • English roadtrip

I ended my time in London with a trip to the coast with Martin and some of his friends from Czech!

I’m back in Atlanta now, and I have to say, I’m so glad to be moving on to the next chapter in life. One week from today I leave to spend a month in Czech Republic with Martin and his family. We are hoping to go on a roadtrip down through Slovenia and Croatia, I can’t wait!!

  • Long time no post

Well it’s been a long time since I updated this blog, mainly because I haven’t been on the road like I used to be. I’ve been in England or Atlanta for most of the past 6 months, with one quick trip to Poland for work and one quick trip to Czech Republic for Christmas.
We wrapped up the last few months with surprisingly warm weather in London, and we made a trip down to the coast and out on a sailboat with our friends Jane and Stewart.

I then said goodbye to London for four months and went home to Atlanta to work and see my family. I also went on a couple of camping/hiking trips with friends.

Then I got to go to Poland for a few days for a shoot with some really fun people so that was awesome.

But mainly in Atlanta I shot a bunch of weddings and family portraits!

Martin came to visit for a couple of weeks and we got engaged! We went camping in north Georgia and to Universal Studios in Florida, stopping to see animals and beaches along the way.

In December I flew back to London just in time to go visit Martin’s mom in Czech Republic for Christmas.

    And now back in London!

I’ll be here for two months before leaving for a trip to Peru with some girlfriends! Really excited about that and trying to get into shape for the trek we’re planning to do. After that I’ll be in Atlanta for a week before heading to Hawaii to shoot a wedding, then meeting Martin back in Europe. We’re hoping to rent and car and take his mom to Croatia and a few other countries over the summer. Looking forward to seeing new places..
